[origin: WO2019063806A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a parcel station (1) having at least one parcel locker (2) and a control device (3) for controlling access to the at least one parcel locker (2) based on information supplied via a user interface (4), said method comprising the steps: • a) creating a reservation request for storing a parcel (20) in the parcel station (1) by means of a communications terminal (15) of a user; • b) transmitting the reservation request from the communications terminal (15) to the central server (14); • c) verifying whether a parcel locker (2) corresponding to the reservation request is available in the parcel station (1); • d) if this is the case, the control device (3) reserves the available parcel locker (2) according to the reservation request and sends a reservation confirmation to the communications terminal (15) of the user; and • e) when information suitable for matching a reservation is supplied via the user interface (4), the control device (3) verifies whether a reservation exists to which the supplied information can be matched, • f) if this is the case, the control device (3) opens the reserved parcel locker (2) for storing the parcel (20). The invention further relates to a parcel station (1) designed to carry out this method.
