[origin: WO2021156889A1] A coated solar control article including a stack of layers acting on solar radiation provided on the surface of the glass substrate comprising at least one functional layer and one or more protective overcoat layers deposited over at least a part of the functional layer is disclosed. The protective overcoat layers comprise TiZrHf or TiZrHfN with or without carbon and contribute to scratch resistivity of the coated article especially before heat treatment for up to 5N in Erichsen Scratch testing. The functional layers are free of silver and silver containing metal alloys. The coated solar control article exhibits enhanced durability in terms of scratch resistivity while retaining the original optical characteristics of the coated solar control article.
