[origin: WO2021224207A1] The invention relates to a method for producing an arc-shaped fibre composite component. A preform with a flat fibre layer arrangement along an arc is formed, the arrangement having an outer edge associated with a convex outer side of the arc. The outer edge is formed to have recesses extending into the flat fibre layer arrangement in such a manner that a contour of each of the recesses is formed, at least in portions, close to a target contour of a respective cut-out to be provided in the fibre composite component. The preform is shaped in such a manner that at least one first region of the flat fibre layer arrangement, which extends substantially in the direction of the arc adjacent to the outer edge, is bent or angled away relative to a second region of the flat fibre layer arrangement adjacent to the first region and facing away from the outer side of the arc. As the shaped preform is created, the recesses that the preform has before shaping transition into recesses of the shaped preform and remain open. The invention further relates to a preform for producing an arc-shaped fibre composite component by means of a method of this kind. The invention can, in particular, help to reduce materials and worksteps during the production of the fibre composite component and to avoid cutting waste.
